MIW announce the award of US Patent No. 10,728,136 B2 for the MCellblock Solutions

MIW announce the award of US Patent No. 10,728,136 B2 for the MCellblock Solutions

MCellblock (MCb) is designed to perform “High Scale Automated Mobile Network Testing using Real Devices”. Including both Android and iOS.

Today, current systems for testing mobile devices, network services, and applications typically only test up to a few devices at a time. This limited setup to test can lead to inconsistencies and inaccuracies in the testing results, increasing the potential risk of the device or application running smoothly once released.

MIW was awarded the US Patent for the MCb framework and techniques providing parallel testing of multiple mobile devices simultaneously using a single computing server referred to as “cellblock” or MCellblock”. The MCellblock houses multiple mobile devices including tablets providing an environment for configuration, testing, reporting, and user management.

Executing multiple test scenarios across a variety of Android and iOS devices in parallel with MCellblock is accomplished through the custom hardware and software creating multiple threads of instructions for each device to perform a test run. These test runs can be simultaneous and continuous for regression of application and services validation.

MCellblock designed a special USB controller that continuously monitors key device metrics including; per-port power management, power consumption, and levels, along with temperature readings with alarms. This provides MCellblock users complete control and information to manage the system and devices under test.

The grant of this patent provides further recognition of the quality of innovation being carried out by the Mcellblock team!

MCellblock Adds Push-To-Talk (PTT) To Its List Of Automated Test Suites

MCellblock  Adds Push-To-Talk (PTT) To Its List Of Automated Test Suites

MCellblock (MCb), Mobile Device Testing platform is extending its test suite functionality adding automated testing of “Push-To-Talk” (PTT) applications.

Service Providers offer instant communications to a mobile workforce today. Push-to-Talk provides services and capabilities such as situational awareness and emergency calling priority treatment. Field workers can maintain communications and collaborate at a push of a button getting more done quickly and easily.

MCellblock PTT Automated Test Suites perform on a large spread of devices such as Apple iPhone, Kyocera, Samsung Galaxy, Sonim and more. Push-to-Talk is about connecting teams with instant voice and messaging. MCb solutions have created the test automation of those capabilities with which MCb is able to validate the operation and performance to insure the latest Push-to-Talk release functions properly with the application, device, and the network.

Previously most testing methods for Push-to-Talk was in a manual process using several personnel performing manual test. However, with MCellblock most test completed manually today are performed continuously, repeatable and with error free test execution. The automation is designed with parallel device implementation at any scale. The test automation provides check points, validations, screen shots and video capture for troubleshooting. Also provided are extensive logs for the application, devices, and test scripts.

MCb facilitates reducing touch points with manual testers, increased efficiency with tests running daily, and faster resolutions finding problems quick and early.

MCb Focuses Automation Of 5G Services Using Real Devices

MCb Focuses Automation Of 5G Services Using Real Devices

Mobile Integration Workgroup, MIW is focused on helping service providers with reducing the complexity and economics of testing and validating 5G services and network functions. We are expediting 5G innovation and return on investment through our MCellblock (MCb) Solution and test automation framework using real devices.

Service Providers all recognize the demand for 5G performance and reliable services in their wireless networks. MCb has developed a set of 5G service validation test suites with both iOS and Android devices such as Samsung Galaxy and Apple iPhone.

With constant change in the service provider network meeting the device, network fronthaul and backhaul demands, network function virtualization (NFV) and edge computing all introduce additional obstacles and challenges.

MCb 5G Services Validation test suite allows constant testing in an automated process with the latest device, operating system, and image to validate the services. Standard or custom dashboards are provided for results and detail troubleshooting including device and test logs.

For example, 5G services introduce new platforms for chat messaging, which can scale much past 20 subscribers within a chat session. A chat session can incorporate a transfer of text, video, and picture all within the same session. MCb 5G Services Validation Test Suite automates the process of establishing the chat group, and multiple type of messaging validating the test case requirements of the devices, network, and services. The automation of 5G services allows for quicker time-to-market, from the lab to production, for all the new 5G services with confidence and quality.

MCellblock is a Product Solution of Mobile Integration Workgroup based in Redmond Washington who also supplies Managed Services solving technology related business challenges with placement of top talent and process-driven solutions.

MCb Helps with Stay-At-Home Orders using Remote Device Access and Manual Testing

MCb Helps with Stay-At-Home Orders using Remote Device Access and Manual Testing

Mobile Integration Workgroup, MIW with its MCellblock (MCb), Mobile Device Testing platform is focused on helping service providers continue productive work from home. Testing new devices and services to be provisioned on wireless networks is an unrelenting job for mobile providers as they move from research and design to production with the latest enhancements and technology.

In early March we all complied with stay-at-home orders to combat the spread of Covid-19 interrupting our routine patterns and work progress. MCb Solutions and MIW trained service provider personnel to use the MCb and continue their normal workflow from home testing applications, devices and the network as efficiently as being in the office using real devices in the lab remotely.

Using a browser, service providers are able to test with “Real Devices” as if they are “using their fingers”. The MCb allows the use of both Apple and Android which incorporates the latest advances in the devices and 5G networks. We have coined the phrase #KeepitReal”.

MCb will allow remote access up to 32 devices per unit, allowing multiple testers to conduct a full test execution of the device and application and verify the network performance.

MCb proivdes video recording of each manual remote session.  The MCb server can manage multiple sets of devices in multiple regions, either on-premise or in the cloud for large end-to-end testing.
